Your future role & Job Purpose:
The role is responsible for overseeing the apprenticeship program, managing both apprentices and the team supporting them. Key objectives include leading the program's strategy for recruitment, training, and development, while ensuring apprentices receive proper mentorship and evaluation. The role requires coordination with educational institutions to align training with company needs and collaboration with production departments to meet labor demands. Additionally, the Division Head leads the team, ensuring continuous improvement, compliance, and quality assurance of the program. They also manage stakeholder communication, reporting, and establish recognition programs to motivate apprentices and staff.
Key Accountabilities:
The Division Head Apprentices, will be responsible for but not limited to:
• Design, develop and maintain comprehensive apprenticeship programs aligned with IMI needs and industry standards.
• Build and maintain relationships with educational institutions, industry partners, and government entities to support apprenticeship initiatives.
• Coordinate the delivery of training and educational components of the apprenticeship program.
• Establish mentorship programs to provide guidance and support to apprentices.
• Implement mechanisms to evaluate the performance of apprentices and the effectiveness of the apprenticeship program; monitor the progress of apprentices and provide ongoing support to address challenges.
• Implement mechanisms to evaluate the performance of partner colleges and the effectiveness of the apprenticeship program.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to apprenticeship activities.
• Create a comprehensive Verification plan for all apprenticeship programs
• Participate in the development of the section’s business plans according to the department objectives.
• Achieve the assigned objectives through the setting of individual objectives, managing performance, and developing and motivating staff.
• Recommend the budget required from the section and monitor financial performance versus the budget while ensuring unit activities are conducted in line with the approved guidelines.
• Ensure the effective implementation of policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of assigned activities.
• Manage the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering leading standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.
• Ensure that all section reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet IMI’s requirements, policies and quality standards.
• Establish a formal recognition program that highlights the achievements of apprentices and team members, such as "Apprentice of the Month" or awards for excellent performance
• Build and develop the apprenticeship team, providing guidance and feedback, highlighting areas for improvement.
• Develop KPI’s and metrics for the review and appraisal of the partner colleges and benchmark each college.
• Work with Industrial Training dept to develop OJT and follow on programs
Who we are looking for:
Experience: 9/+ years of relevant experience.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering or equivalent along with industrial experience.
