JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE
This job role will support the IMI integrated management system (IMS) department to achieve set targets in awareness and employee educational materials structured in line with set schedules/standards.
The position holder will work closely with site supervisors/managers and the company onboarding team to ensure new hires or persons visiting the company for business are given relevant awareness and orientation with regards to health, safety, compliance, and quality assurance requirements. Also, personnel will ensure that required HSE awareness sessions are effectively delivered to all employees.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Design, review and update materials for health, safety, compliance and quality assurance induction/ orientation/training and awareness sessions for existing employees, new hires, experienced workers, or persons visiting the company for business.
• Conduct facility and yard induction/orientation/training for our relevant stakeholders (employees, subcontractors, clients, and visitors).
• Ensure all induction/orientation/training programs cover the basic elements of IMS policies/procedures including emergency response arrangements as well as legal and other requirements.
• Work in liaison with IMI onboarding/Training & Development and project teams to develop induction plan and schedule and communicate same as appropriate.
• Work in liaison with IMI induction/orientation/training and project teams to ensure that induction venues, materials, and logistics are available to achieve effective and efficient delivery of site orientation.
• Ensure all relevant equipment and materials used for induction/orientation/training are always in good maintenance state.
• Maintain up-to-date documented information related to all induction/orientation/training & awareness sessions undertaken.
• Ensure induction/orientation/training programs are continually improved through an effective feedback process.
• Submit reports of induction/orientation/training conducted, including feedback/suggestions, to the IMS Manager through the Division Head for Employee Awareness.
• Maintain a system to ensure that those who have received induction/orientation, and HSE Awareness sessions are easily identifiable so they can be assisted (where required) when in company premises.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in sciences, HSE, quality assurance or equivalent.
• Master will be an added advantage.
Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations)
• NEBOSH General Certificate, ISO certificates (9001, 14001, 45001, etc.)
• Train-the-Trainer certificate (Accredited by reputable agency)
Experience
• At least 3-9 years’ experience in behavioral HSE training techniques.
Languages
• English.
• Arabic
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
• Possess working knowledge of HSE system relevant in the maritime/ shipbuilding industry.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to develop and deliver training to people of diverse nationalities, levels of education and industry experience (including apprentices).
• Ability to modify, adapt and improve induction/orientation material and delivery methods as necessary.
• Must be able to relate well with audience, capable of seeking attention, sustaining audience interest, and equipped with usual training capabilities.
• Thorough knowledge of applicable local and international regulations, standards, and best practices.
• High level of integrity and ethical behavior – sets good example.
• Performance/delivery orientated.
• Flexibility to multi-task when required.
• Innovative and hardworking.
• Ability to present editorials, periodicals, or bulletins.
• Team player, rigorous, objective and performance/delivery orientated.

• Competent understanding of HSE management systems and their implementation in respect to industrial / maritime yards and project operations.
• Knowledge of the requirements of the international standards such as ISO 45001:2018, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 55001:2014, ISO 31000:2018.
