Foreman, Electrical & Instrumentation
  • The position holder is responsible to lead the maintenance actions and day to day activities of all Dry Docks systems (both Graving and floating type), components and related machinery/equipment, in a safe, well organized and timely manner, within the asset management plans, to achieve asset management objectives

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Adhere to regulations, quality, security, and safety standards.

  • Carry out fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs to (not limited to) all types of shipyard Dry Docks (both types floating and graving) systems, components and related machinery/equipment in a safe, timely and professional manner and to restore assets back to operational condition at the minimum possible time to eliminate downtime and production losses.

  • Ability to study, interpret and analyze engineering manuals, drawings and reports and derive solutions.

  • Closely apply and follow-up IFS (ERP system) to manage notifications, work orders preparation and closing, parts ordering, ensure history recording and work orders closure after work completion with updated reports and related attachments

  • Leads maintenance teams to perform Dry Docks maintenance activities (installations, maintenance, disposition, surveys of safely and environmentally friendly with zero tolerance in the assigned areas/zones of work.

  • Inspect and test completed works to ensure safe operation of the assets/equipment before handover.

  • Involved in critical activities such as installations, pre-commissioning, commissioning, transition/handing over, mothballing, reposition of Dry Docks assets. responsible for safe work practices and making decisions based on knowledge and experience.

  • Identify spares requirements and monitor their utilization.

  • Work within 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) mindset and methodology.

  • Control and endorse work permits for the asset maintenance work and ensure that safety and environment regulations are understood and followed by the asset management team.

  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer satisfaction.

  • Provide inputs in development and reviewing of checklists, SOP’s, maintenance procedures, TRA/JSAs.

  • Promote a “can-do” team spirit creating a culture of high standards, work ethic and job satisfaction within the department and his team.

  • Undertake continuous training and development.

  • Train and share asset maintenance knowledge to co-workers and apprentices and enhance their skills (in achieving Saudi Vision 2030.

  • Promote a sense of positive attitude, pride and work culture in driving teams to attain Asset Management objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Technical Diploma degree in Electrical or Electronic or Marine Engineering or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE
  • At least 12-15 years of practical Shipyards / Dry Docks experience.

  • Understanding of Health and Safety practices.

  • Previous shipyard experience is a must.

  • Strong knowledge of shipyard Dry Docks both Graving and floating maintenance requirements, all types of maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.

  • Strong knowledge of vessel docking and shifting, also Dry Docks operational requirements, including pre, post and during operation procedures, this includes vessel transfer systems and procedures are a must.

  • Strong knowledge of the HONEYWELL control system.

  • Strong knowledge of Dry Docks electric power supply, distribution, switchgear, and protection systems,

  • Strong knowledge of Control and monitoring equipment including Central control desk (user console), software, settings, MCC, LV, ELV panels, VFDs, controllers, PLC, soft starters, modules, Load and level measuring systems, encoders, sensors, cutoff/limit switches, signalling and alarming devices.

  • Strong knowledge of Dry Docks safety and interlocking systems and schemes.

  • Knowledge of Dry Docks mechanical maintenance and repairs.

  • Knowledge of Dry Docks auxiliary systems as hauling winches, capstans

  • Understanding engineering, scientific and other technical information

  • Advanced Problem-solving skills

  • Computer literacy and experience with MS Office suite.
