We are looking to hire Senior Engineer, Piping,

This job role is to ensure To Execute the Piping Engineering activities (Concept, Front End Engineering, Technical Study and Detail & Production Design) in the Accommodation division in Ship Building.

Key Accountabilities & Working Relationships

Key Accountabilities:

The Senior Engineer, Piping who will be responsible for but not limited to:

• Preparation of design deliverables complying with all relevant codes, standards, regulations, and procedures.

• Prepare & Review Accommodation Piping diagram, Standard Practice, Pipe Installation drawing and Production & Shop drawing of Pipe piece’s cutting, Pipe support, PPR pipe and fittings and Fire rated Piping insulation etc. in Shipbuilding.

• Review project scope of work, specifications, and deliverables. Raise technical queries to maintain preferred practices and operational requirements.

• Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Management Procedure.

• Progress monitoring and adherence to scheduled completion of engineering documents.

• Interface with other departments to reflect the as-on-date input from other departments as applicable.

• Capture all changes / modifications in the deliverables that have been intimated by project, prior to release of deliverable.

• Prepare specification, technical evaluation and supplier documentation review.

• Maintain the required technical quality of work.

• Identify manpower requirements based on workload.

• Attending project review meetings / 3D model review meetings as required.

• Ensure appropriate checking & review of all documents / drawings before release at any revision status.

• Coordination with the other engineering disciplines, customer and Supplier.

• Control of quality of engineering documents regarding quality assurance basis.

• Review of MTO and Material Requisitions.

• Complete the work within budget and schedule.

• Supervise and guide the assigned engineers, designers, and draftsmen.

• Ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures as applicable.

• Ensure compliance with all applicable information security policies & procedures.

Working Relationships:

Internal Interactions: 

• Internal Engineering departments, other business work-streams within the company, Department Engineering Manager, VP Engineering Design.

External Interactions:

• Clients, Classification Societies, Vendors, Subcontractors, consultants, inspection agencies.

Who we are looking for

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.

Experience:

• At least 9-15 years’ experience Shipbuilding or offshore support vessels building industry in related Accommodation Piping engineering and outfitting field

Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations):

• Preferred – Any additional certification / courses in piping design engineering, project management.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

• Sound knowledge of International marine Rules & Regulations (IMO convention, Codes etc.), Classification Society Rules, Flag state national Rules, Industrial standards & guidelines

• Knowledge of piping in Accommodation engineering for Shipbuilding

• Knowledge of whole process of production/installation of hull outfitting.

• Experience of leading technical meeting with Client and Classification Societies

• Ability to manage internal processes against Client’s expectations.

• Ability to manage the vendors for installation and commissioning of equipment.

• Excellent communication & reporting skills on Senior management and Operational level

• Demonstrated ability to influence and motivate others regarding continuous improvement

• Exposure to 2D AutoCAD & 3D design tools like AVEVA.

• Exposure to piping engineering related software such as pipe flow, PIPENET, CEASER, etc.
