Job Purpose:

The job is responsible to safely guiding propelled or unpropelled marine units through IMI anchorage, channel, basin, quaysides, docks, etc.., as per the Technical and Marine Services needs to achieve operation’s KPIs and consequently meets IMI strategic objectives.

Key Accountabilities & Working Relationships:

• Overall leading different types of marine operations on site such as: berthing, unberthing, docking, undocking being responsible for safely guiding propelled or unpropelled marine units from one location to another through IMI anchorage, channel, basin, quaysides, docks, …etc.

• Responsible for maintaining proper Communicating with the marine units’ crew members, IMI VTS tower, different IMI departments and other key stakeholders in the marine operations.

• Ensuring the required manpower and equipment (tugs, mooring boats, pilot boats, forklift, winches…etc.) needed to for safe operation are available and fully operational fit for the purpose.

• Ensure that all other preparations and planning for the safe execution of said marine operation are in place. This includes but is not limited to the berthing and unberthing plans, mooring arrangement, pre/post operation meetings/approvals from related safety departments and IMI VTS.

• Keeping up-to-date logs of marine movements, weather conditions, and any unusual incidents.

• Undertaking regular inspection and sea trails for IMI marine units to ensure proper functioning.

• Contribute to the development and the implementation of Marine Operation procedures, processes, check lists and other operational documents.

• Ensure compliance with safety guidelines, regulations, quality, security, environmental, and safety standards and regulations related to his job.

• Work within 5S methodology (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to maintain workplace to a high standard.

• Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.

• Undertake continuous training and development, provide and lead training for young technicians and apprentices, and train operational staff within the work group.

• Assisting in emergency situations (man overboard, fire onboard, …etc.) by using knowledge of the waterways to help guide emergency crews.

Who we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in marine technologies or equivalent (preferred).

• Diploma technical degree or equivalent.

• COC Master unlimited. • Have certificates of tanker qualifications COC.

• Valid STCW certificates (BST, ARPA, ECDIS, GMDSS & Advanced Firefighting).

• Must have a working knowledge of marine navigation and harbor regulations.

• Excellent Computer Skills in MS Office.

• Having extensive experience as rig Mover for handling different types of rigs: berthing, unberthing, Offshore towage and channeling.

• Understanding of Health and Safety practices.

• Able to prepare and present comprehensive marine operation reports as and when request Understanding engineering, scientific and other technical information.

• Planning and prioritizing activities

• Advanced Problem-solving skills

• Ability to present data effectively.

• Excellent team working skills.

• For bachelor holder 9-15 years, for diploma holder 15+ years of relevant experience.

• Excellent English Skills.
