Engineer, Electrical and Instrumentation II, I
Assist Superintendent for all Electrical systems for new build rig. To be involved in creating work packs and planning daily work and interfacing with all departments for completion of activities. Provide on-site coordination for all phases of work, including coordination and planning of materials, workers/ subcontractors’ allocation, and detailed scheduling as per project requirements. To ensure projects are completed safely, on time.
Key Accountabilities
Supervise and monitor the progress of Electrical systems and construction activities to ensure systems are properly constructed and installed to the approved design and specifications.
To plan ROS dates for all equipment based on project timeline and schedule. Responsible for the delivery of Equipment in compliance with system specifications.
To drive hot works, cable-pulling and cable termination works onboard. To ensure proper cable continuity checks and meagering are performed prior to termination.
Coordinate cold works and to follow through with Electrical Completion for smooth handover for Commissioning activities.
Assist in each phase of the project term from design to completion in accordance with project specifications and efficient use of resources.
To liaise with client’s representatives and subcontractors on all project issues to ensure safe and efficient delivery of project.
To plan for preservation of equipment upon installation onsite to delivery
To establish manpower as per project schedule requirements and to plan for all equipment and facilities required to execute works.
Ensure that works within his discipline adhere strictly to the latest approved construction project drawings, ITP’s, procedures, and site instructions.
Have weekly schedule coordination meetings with all subcontractor foremen to outline requirements of work completion, and other issues as may be required including but not limited to manpower requirements, interference coordination, inspections, and sequence of work. Distribute three-week look ahead schedules and communicate schedule requirements with all subcontractors.
Possess strong initiative around decision making and ability to conceptualize plans and technical solutions to deal with a wide array of standard and innovative construction issues.
Implement, monitor, and drive the project schedule. Promptly notify management team of schedule and performance issues, be proactive in anticipating potential problems that may impact the project performance.
Should possess strong knowledge and understanding of shipyard HSEQ regulations and rig building job certification requirements and ensure the same is communicated to the project team on a regular basis.
Identify the work priorities, focus on the critical path, analyze the work problems in writing with own problemsolving mentality, accurate supervision, decision-maker with a strong convincing personality, full readiness with 'Plan B' for any unexpected issues.
Fully responsible for delivery of all Inspection Test Records (ITR’s) under the relevant discipline by effectively delegating to the foreman and chargehands. This must be approached with a high focus on interfacing and coordination with all other discipline supervision to remove all blocks from achieving the target date.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor Engineering Degree equivalent.
Certification in the related field (is a plus).
EXPERIENCE
At least 3-9 years of experience in shipyard and preferably involved in offshore activities and/or rig building.
Experienced in handling rig building and similar offshore related projects which are of high value and with technical complexities.
Project management, time management and planning skills.
Able to make appropriate decisions and judgments, decisive and take proper actions.
Able to lead and manage new build rig construction projects.
Able to coordinate and communicate with other internal & external stakeholders in new build projects.
Knowledge of shipyard production trade activities.
Strong Knowledge in Work pack development and system.
Able to lead and manage the Toolbox Talks effectively.
Able to build, encourage and lead a team. Additional / Other Requirement:
Physical Make-up: Able to communicate orally with confidence, physically fit and able to work in extreme climatic conditions, excellent listening skills and assertive.
Intelligence: Excellent interpersonal skills, Documentation, computer operation, procedures & systems, Problem definition and resolution.
Aptitudes: Leadership, motivation and team working, Proactive, demonstrates ability to listen to the views of others and respond in a logical, well thought out manner without the need to resort to authority.
Disposition: Able to relate well at all levels; conscientious, thorough, content to deal with detailed, routine work and resilience under pressure.
