Your future role & Job Purpose

Position holder is responsible in ensuring that all activities in IMI (including IMI controlled areas of other sites) are executed in accordance with the IMI Integrated Management System requirements and assist in facilitating ongoing regulatory compliance will all applicable legal, contractual and regulatory requirements and obligations. This position will provide leadership, mentoring, training and coordination to the Safety Officers and Engineers ensuring the implementation of the day-to-day safety requirements on their assigned project and zonal activities.

Key Accountabilities

• Provide support to the project/zone by maintaining a visible presence in the operational areas, spending at least 70% of the shift in the zone or project.

• Mentor / training Safety Officers & Safety Engineers in Shipyard Health and Safety hazards and mitigation measures.

• Carry out regular inspections of all work areas in their area of responsibility, ensuring that all deficiencies are immediately reported/followed up and recorded as per IMI hazard reporting procedure. Monitor and support the company control of work/Permit-to-Work system implementation, and audit for OH&S field compliance.

• Develop strategies to support and complement the delivery of the H&S Objectives ensuring all direct reports have SMART Goals and development plans in the IFS system.

• Steward the implementation of robust world-class HSE practices that deliver value for IMI stakeholders (employees, contractors, clients and shareholders) focus on building a unique HSE culture using industry proven HSE programs/ training/awareness.

• Manage staff allocation to ensure adequate coverage in the requisite work area.

• Assist frontline production supervisors in delivering pre-task toolbox talks to the workforce on the control measures identified in risk assessments/safe systems of work and ensure that records are maintained.

• Assist in incident investigations, compilation of incident reports and dissemination of lessons learned to the workers.

• Assist and participate in emergency drills and during real emergency situations within IMI operational areas (as required).

• Participate in HSE audits (internal and external). Inform the HSE team of any new or conflictive legislative matters that could impact the project.

• Ensure that assets required for the safe performance of the works are identified, handled, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with relevant IMI policies and procedures.

• Monitor the effective implementation of the HSE management system on project/zone and provide HSE performance report to the Safety Performance Manager/VP HSE as required.

• Carry out any other duties as instructed by the HSE Manager(s) and actively contribute to the achievement of corporate and departmental KPIs by ensuring that required HSE related documented information are maintained and available to the appropriate persons/group.

• Undertake specific duties as defined by the Operational Safety Manager.

Who we are looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in health & safety or relevant discipline

  • Auditor certification in IMS (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001)

  • Certification in Document Management & Retention Certification in other management system standards will be advantage.

  • Communicate (written & oral) in the English language with confidence.

  • Excellent listening skills & assertive.

  • Good knowledge of Integrated Management System requirements in maritime operations.

  • Basic Technical knowledge of the Oil & Gas & marine industry

  • Proficiency in PowerPoint presentations, process mapping and analytical tools

  • Proficiency in MS office including Visio.

  • Good auditing skill/background, and use of root cause verification tools.

  • Minimum 6-8/+ years' experience in IMS assurance with oil and gas industry or EPC companies.
