Job Purpose:
The position holder is in charge of supervising the YSS Mechanical activities, including in-house and third-party operations within the Yard. The Mechanical Supervisor will be responsible for conducting inspections and submitting reports to his direct line manager, which will include findings and recommendations for all premature failures.
Key Accountabilities & Working Relationships:
• Manage and supervise all personal and professional related issues of the YSS mechanical technicians and other assigned personnel.
• Execute all tasks required in regard to mechanical following the procedures and methods for such work.
• Review and analyze Mechanical engineering drawings and specifications for compliance with specified codes, standards, company policy and practices.
• Perform regular mechanical duties including but not limited to (maintaining records and files, preparing reports, conduct crew annual assessments and provide training and coaching, and order workshop supplies and equipment).
• Forecast, plan and execute all mechanical equipment repairs safely within the approved budget.
• Conduct technical investigations and prepare Root Cause Analysis reports for all premature failures arrive at the mechanical workshop with clear & detailed facts / evidence and corrective action plans to prevent similar failures from reoccurrence.
• Maintain up to date records of all mechanical tools and equipment, ensuring that all tools and equipment are safe, operational, calibrated and well always maintained.
• Actively participate in the department budget planning initiatives and align the workload with the mechanical services plans to avoid uneven schedules across the physical budget year.
• Provide preliminary and final BOM, sketches and cost estimates for assigned projects.
• Ensure that all spare parts reserved for the upcoming repair works are well received, inspected, and preserved in suitable environment well in advance until the actual repair works start.
• Maintain required records and prepare reports for all completed repairs or for all future pending plans.
• Ensure the workplace environment results in targeted retention and stability.
• Adhere to all relevant HSE procedures, instructions and controls, and provides a safe, secure and environmentally responsible service to customers, the public and its own people.
• Follow all relevant organizational and departmental policies, processes and guidelines so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
• Contribute to cost-efficient usage of all applicable resources to reduce unnecessary expenses.
• Any other duties assigned by the yard support services manager
Who we are looking for:
• Diploma in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Preferred – Any additional certification / courses in Mechanical engineering, AutoCAD, analysis software, IFS system.
• Excellent knowledge of reading and understanding mechanical engineering, drawings, workshop tools and equipment, parts identification and ordering, and mechanical inventory management system.
• High level of competence in oral and written communication with good computer skills.
• Hold other mechanical certificates related to Oil & Gas equipment maintenance.
• Demonstrated effective leadership and influencing skills and practices.
• Good communicator. • Motivated • Work well under pressure.
• Multi-tasker.
• Excellent attitude towards health and safety.
• At least 15 years in a similar role in a business of similar size and complexity.
