  • The position holder is responsible to safely, timely and cost-effectively lead the performance of all UPS related maintenance day to day activities as per the asset management plans to achieve asset management objectives and therefore achieve IMI strategic objectives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Adhere to regulations, quality, security, and safety standards.

  • Performs the full range of operation and maintenance including but not limited to scheduled and unscheduled installations, decommissioning, inspectors, analysis, troubleshooting, and repairs.

  • Involved in scheduled installation /maintenance for AC / DC Power Systems Hardware, Nicad / Sealed Lead Battery Maintenance, UPS Installation/ maintenance, and Battery Monitoring System.

  • Install, configure, and test UPS systems according to manufacturer specifications and safety guidelines.

  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to proactively identify and address potential issues.

  • Troubleshoot UPS systems, diagnose faults and perform necessary repairs to ensure optimal performance.

  • Respond promptly to UPS-related emergencies and work towards a swift resolution.

  • Provides equipment-operating assistance to users and technical assistance upon request.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, wiring diagrams, and other specifications, as required, to determine and correctly follow installation procedures.

  • Perform monthly PMCSs of all batteries and UPS systems, including bringing UPS systems online (load) and taking precise measurements validating operational readiness.

  • Arrange the proper return and replacement of the defective item under warranty, repair, wrongly ordered or delivered item/s.

  • Prepares appropriate maintenance forms, logs, and records for accountability including trip reports.

  • Supports on-call response as needed.

  • Understand, observe, and support the implementation of Asset Management Policy, SAMP and Asset Management System.

  • Log completion of work and enter adequate work orders history data into IFS.

  • Ensure that maintenance contractors are utilized efficiently, cost effectively and in accordance with company procedures.

  • Lead activities to move, install, mothball, and reposition electrical and other assets.

  • Safely operate all electrical systems including loads transfers and switching.

  • Work within 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) methodology to maintain workplace to a high standard.

  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.

  • Undertake special projects as required.

  • Follow up and execute FRACAS recommendations assigned to the zone assets.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities.

  • Undertake continuous training and development.

  • Lead and/or support young trainees and apprentices & train people within own work group.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Technical Diploma in Electrical, or equivalent.

  • Certificates of accomplishment from Leading UPS Manufacturers is a plus

EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 12 - 15 years of hands-on experience.

  • IFS practical experience is a plus.

  • Understanding of Health and Safety practices

  • Knowledge of shipyard assets’ maintenance, repairs, and upgrades

  • Understanding engineering, scientific and other technical information

  • Planning and prioritizing activities

  • Advanced Problem-solving skills

  • Ability to present data effectively.

  • Excellent team working skills.

  • Ability to train self and cascade knowledge to others.

  • A willingness to work flexible hours and respond to UPS emergencies as needed.

  • Good understanding of customer expectations and deliverables with an awareness of the impact of failure/cost of poor quality

  • Must have a working knowledge of OS Must have a working knowledge of OSHA and/or NEBOSH standards and practices.

  • Excellent Computer Skills in MS Office.

  • Leading and Supervision of Maintenance Team
