Your future role & Job Purpose
Job Purpose:
The role holder is responsible to execute Mechanical Engineering activities (Concept, Front End Engineering Development, Technical Study, Detail Design) in accordance with applicable technical specifications, company policies, procedures, and work instructions.
Key Accountabilities & Working Relationships
Key Accountabilities:
Execute mechanical tasks while ensuring strict adherence to project schedules and financial limitations. Contribute mechanical engineering expertise to yard setup initiatives.
Supervise the conduct of firewater and potable water connections, compressed air lines, cooling water systems, confined area forced ventilation and cooling systems, and compressed air and cooling systems for Rig and Ship MRO in addition to New Builds.
Promote continuous gas supply by coordinating with Industrial Gas vendors stationed at multiple gas terminals in the IMI Yard.
Ensure the maintenance of flow meters in order to control the provision and utilization of utilities, such as compressed air, cooling water, and industrial vapors.
Ensure quality control measures are implemented and enforced for all mechanical work. Establish and enforce safety protocols for yard setup projects involving mechanical labor.
Coordinate with various departments, including electrical and structural, to guarantee the smooth incorporation of mechanical components into the broader yard setup initiatives.
Preparation of design deliverables with consideration for applicable codes & standards.
Prepare specification, technical evaluation, Supplier documentation review and expediting with Supplier.
Perform calculations applying Mechanical engineering principles, techniques, procedures, and criteria for Ship Building designs.
Interface with other departments to reflect the as -on-date input from other Departments as applicable.
Maintain the required technical quality of work
Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Control Process.
Ensure that designs comply with the relevant codes, standards, regulations, and procedures.
Attending Factory Inspection reports.
Progress monitoring and adherence to scheduled completion of engineering documents.
Capture all changes / modifications in the deliverables that have been intimated by project, prior to release of deliverable.
Ensure appropriate checking & review of all documents / drawings before release at any revision status.
Attending project review meetings.
Coordination with the other Engineering disciplines, Customer and Supplier.
Ensure Supplier documentation received on time.
Control of Quality of engineering documents regarding Quality assurance basis.
Ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures as applicable.
Ensure compliance with all applicable information security policies & procedures.
Responsible for change management & risk identification related to own assigned activities.
Propose design improvements and lessons learned.
Working Relationships:
Internal Interactions:
Internal Engineering Department, Supervisors, Superintendents, Division Heads
External Interactions:
Supplier, Subcontractors, Consultants, Clients.
Who we are looking for
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
Experience:
Fresh Graduate or 0-3 years’ experience in related field.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
Basic Engineering knowledge in the respective discipline.
Awareness in international codes & standards, maritime regulations, and class rules.
Knowledge on Auto CAD is a plus.
Ability to cooperate within a multinational environment.
Good communication and presentation skills.
IT skills
Languages:
