Your future role & Job Purpose

Job Purpose:

  • Position holder is responsible to ensure safe, uninterrupted, and cost-efficient day-to-day operation and maintenance of different marine assets’ control systems as per the Marine Operations and Technical Services needs to achieve operation’s KPIs and consequently meets IMI strategic objectives.

Key Accountabilities & Working Relationships

Key Accountabilities:

  • Contribute in scheduled and unscheduled operations and maintenance task covering the installation, configuration, commissioning, routine inspection, analysis, upgrading, diagnose, troubleshooting and repair faults of a wide range of systems and equipment, including but not limited to: DCS, PKS-C300, SM, ESD, FLD, PLC, RTU, EBR, OWS, EWS, servers, communication equipment, HMI, GPS, Switches, SCADA Systems Hardware/Software, according to manufacturer specifications and safety guidelines.

  • Involved in Adding /Assigning of new I/O Channel/Modules/Rack to a Control/CPU Module for monitoring and controlling.

  • Respond promptly to emergencies related to said control systems and equipment and work towards a swift resolution.

  • Provides technical and operational support to operation team and equipment & control systems end users upon request.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, wiring diagrams, and other specifications, as required, to determine and correctly follow installation procedures.

  • Provide recommendation for upgrading and optimization of the marine assets’ control systems and equipment in way to improve the interfaces and develop better processes.

  • Leading and monitoring integration tests with different entities on site involved in a wide range of control systems and equipment installations.

  • Arrange the proper return and replacement of the defective item under warranty, repair, wrongly ordered or delivered items.

Who we are looking for

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical / Electronic /Mechatronics / Industrial Automation Engineering or equivalent.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3-9 years of practical experience in implementing, maintaining, and operating of DCS, ESD, PKS System

  • IFS practical experience is a plus.

Professional Qualifications

  • Must have experience and qualified working of DCS, PLC, RTU, OWS, EBR, EWS, Servers, Switches, Communication, HMI, GPS, systems with SCADA system and other control system software and hardware.

  • Having certificates of accomplishment from Leading Honeywell and other Manufacturers is a plus.

  • Must have a working knowledge of OS Must have a working knowledge of OSHA and/or NEBOSH standards and practices.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

  • Excellent Computer Skills in MS Office.

  • Must have a working knowledge of JAVA, C#, and other languages.

  • Advance Knowledge in Computer & Software’s.

  • Understanding of Health and Safety practices

  • Knowledge of shipyard assets’ maintenance, repairs, and upgrades

  • Understanding engineering, scientific and other technical information

  • Planning and prioritizing activities

  • Advanced Problem-solving skills

  • Ability to present data effectively.

  • Excellent team working skills.

  • Ability to train self and cascade knowledge to team/others.

  • A willingness to work flexible hours and respond to DCS, PLC, RTU, OWS, EBR, EWS, Servers, Switches, SCADA emergencies as needed.

  • Good understanding of customer expectations and deliverables with an awareness of the impact of failure/cost of poor quality.

  • Prior shipyard, marine, oil and gas/offshore experience is a must

Languages:

  • Excellent English Skills.

  • Basic knowledge in Arabic is a plus.
