Your future role & Job Purpose
Job Purpose:
The position is responsible for the safe and cost-efficient day-to-day monitoring and operations of one of the pumping systems of the different IMI drydocking facilities: Dry Docks, Ship-lift and Load out Barge.
The role shall be performed in line with local regulations and international standards related to the field, by ensuring manpower and assets under his supervision (such as the Fire pumps, Main de-watering Pumps and pump house Control system), are in good operational condition and coordinate its maintenance as necessary.
Key Accountabilities & Working Relationships
Key Accountabilities:
Ensure safe and cost-efficient day to day monitoring and operations of one of the pumping systems of the different drydocking facilities within IMI such as the Graving docks, the ship-lift and the Load Out Barge.
Maintain updated records of the pumping operation and maintenance.
Use the digital pumping and control system to monitor the water level in the docking facility and operating pumps to maintain the desired level as per the dock Master/Superintendent instructions and/or the safe assessment of the operations requirements.
Coordinate with the Asset Management team to report any deficiencies and to follow up routine maintenance tasks.
Coordinate with the Asset Management team to ensure the pumping system of the docking facility is in good operational condition Including all control panel futures (switches, alarms, sensors…etc.), all pump house equipment (Pumps, valves, motors, fire system and cameras…etc.)
Assist maintenance team in trouble shooting any deficiency and relative blueprint drawings reading.
Ensure all preparations and checks prior to Docking operation are conducted as required.
Provide improvement ideas to develop and update Operation procedures, check list, guidelines, manuals, and other operational documents related to the docking/undocking and pump house operation.
Ensure smooth coordination close communication and support to other Marine Operations members during docking /undocking operations for better planning and optimization of marine manpower & assets utilization & performance.
Promote and implement a strong safety culture for all Marine Operations team under his command and ensure they are adhering to company safety regulations and are fully briefed on all safety requirements.
Ensure the working place is kept clean and serviceable and all waste management and pollution control measures are followed as per relevant IMI procedures.
Coordinate and support other IMI Functions, Departments, and divisions within the scope of his duty to allow on time best quality service given to the Clients.
Contribute to the successful delivery of IMI Business plans.
Contribute to achieving IMI goals and KPIs at corporate, function departmental and individual levels.
Participate in emergency drills and propose improvement ideas as suitable.

Who we are looking for
Education:
Diploma in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
Experience:
At least 3-6 years of practical work experience in operation and maintenance of Dry-Docking Pumping system in a dynamic shipyard.
Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations):
Any control system training and/or certification is preferred.
Knowledge of ISO, Health & Safety Management System
Any additional trainings/courses related to dry docking pump house operation are preferred.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
Good knowledge in troubleshooting and faults diagnosis of Pumps, motors, and control panels.
Understanding of Preventive & Corrective Maintenance basics.
Knowledge of site HSE requirements & how to respond to emergency.
Familiar with ERP systems.
Handling parts catalog & reading/ implementing OEM instructions.
Experience in working with diverse cultures
