Job Purpose:
We are looking to hire Senior Engineer, Drilling Equipment,
This job role is to ensure the job holder is responsible to execute Mechanical Engineering activities for Drilling equipment (Concept, Front End Engineering Development, Technical Study, Detail Design) for new build rigs projects, provide technical guidance and support to project teams, ensuring that all engineering deliverables meet quality standards.
Key Accountabilities & Working Relationships
Key Accountabilities:
The Senior Engineer, Drilling Equipment who will be responsible for but not limited to:
Deep understanding of drilling technologies, equipment specifications, and the ability to lead a team of engineers to ensure the successful implementation of drilling projects.
Lead the design and development of drilling equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and End-user specifications and requirements.
Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, ensuring that all engineering deliverables meet quality standards.
Act as a subject matter expert, providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers within the department.
Preparation of design deliverables with due consideration for applicable codes &standards.
Prepare specification, technical evaluation, Supplier documentation review and expediting with Suppliers.
Interface with other departments to reflect the as-on-date input from other departments as applicable.
Maintain the required technical quality of work.
Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Management Procedure.
Ensure that designs comply with the relevant codes, standards, regulations, and procedures.
Attending Factory Inspection reports.
Progress monitoring and adherence to scheduled completion of engineering documents.
Capture all changes / modifications in the deliverables that have been intimated by Project, prior to release of deliverable.
Ensure appropriate checking & review of all documents / drawings before release at any Revision status.
Contribute in Project management activities to monitor performance and execution by providing recommendations and insights on required actions and methods.
Coordination with the other Engineering disciplines, Customer and Supplier.
Ensure Supplier documentation received on time.
Control the quality of engineering documents regarding Quality assurance basis.
Ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures as applicable.
Ensure compliance with all applicable information security policies &procedures.
Working Relationships:
Internal Interactions:
Internal Engineering Department, other business work-streams within the company, Division Head – Mechanical & HVAC.
External Interactions:
Customers, Supplier, Subcontractors, Consultants, Inspection Agencies
Who we are looking for
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
Experience:
Minimum of 9-15 years in engineering design department of any offshore rig building industry or relevant fields.
Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations):
Courses in Mechanical Engineering are preferred
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
Sound knowledge of international codes & standards, maritime regulations, and class rules.
Exposure to AutoCAD and 3D design tools like AVEVA.
Exposure to equipment sizing and calculations in jack up rigs.
Demonstrated high order interpersonal skills and the ability to operate within a multinational environment.
Demonstrated ability to influence and motivate others with regards to continuous improvement.
Good communication and presentation skills.
Languages:
English. (Mandatory)
