Deputy Project Manager
To work closely together with the project manager and the project team to ensure that all assigned projects are executed safely, on time, and within budget in accordance with the contract and International Maritime Industries Management System (IMIMS).
Key Accountabilities
Ensure that all aspects of the project are executed safely and ensure compliance with HSES responsibilities.
Ensure that project risk assessments are carried out as necessary and that the correct mitigation is applied to reduce or eliminate the risk.
Collaborate with other departments within the company to ensure that the best results are achieved to benefit the completion/execution.
Ensure that all activities relating to the project are properly planned and that the plans and responsibilities therein are passed to and understood by all concerned parties.
Ensure in conjunction with the Procurement Supply Chain group that all materials and equipment (including FIM and OFE) are procured and delivered in accordance with the project’s contract requirements.
Ensure that the project schedule and resource schedules and resource plans are properly prepared in accordance with the contract requirements and monitor the project to ensure its timely completion.
Ensure that labour resources are effectively and efficiently utilised in accordance with the project schedule and budget.
Effectively manage the project team including personnel seconded to the project team from functional groups and ensure effective communication.
Prepare and present reports relating to the project as required to Senior Management.
Arrange and chair project meetings, internal and external, as necessary to ensure the effective management of the project.
Ensure that all project related activities are carried out in accordance with the IMIMS.
Maintenance activities and practices in assets of the company is an advantage.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
Master’s Degree (Preferred)
Professional Project Management Qualifications (ie PMP) preferred.
Excellent Communication Skills (oral and written) in the English Language.
Experience
At least 15-17 years’ experience in offshore construction industry.
