JOB PURPOSE
  • Position holder is responsible for MRO operations of ship & rig electric and electronic equipment withing the Base premises or (if required) in-situ / on deck.

  • He/ She will be responsible to implement Technical Services and Corporate Goals and Objectives for Drill Deck Equipment shop, advise most efficient, cost effective and safe techniques and equipment suitable for accomplishing desired results in given time and budget, while preserving the function of our physical assets throughout their life period. Willing to share his knowledge gained from extensive industry experience in machining and additives manufacturing, specifically related to Ship and/or Rig MRO.

  • E& I Works Superintendent supports continuous improvement efforts within the Technical Services team, investigation of root cause failures and deriving preventative and corrective actions.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Shop equipment and assets set up, process flow, availability of required tools, auxiliary equipment etc.

  • Ensuring smooth execution of MRO works in his area of responsibility.

  • Efficient planning and execution of works, availability of proper tooling, utilization of equipment and assets.

  • Manning equipment with trained staff, sufficient for the required task but avoiding excessive idle time.

  • Good knowledge of rig & ship equipment and common maintenance and repair issues in E&I field.

  • Preparation of specifications for the new tools, assets and consumables required to be purchased for business needs, as well as SOPs for existing equipment and other procedures & work instructions as required for his/her scope.

  • Manages workflows, monitoring the utilization of related equipment and ensuring their most effective usage throughout the lifespan. He/ She contributes to the development of the new facility, processes, and organization under his/her command.

  • Support Technical Services General Manager in feasibility studies considering shop capabilities as well as International Standards and Client requirements.

  • Review new projects SOW and provide feedback regarding time (manhours, work duration) estimation and tooling requirements.

  • Support Technical Services HSE and Inspection teams for complying with quality and safety norms in accordance with Company Policy and QHSE Management System.

  • General management responsibilities of His / Her team in accordance with IMI’s policies and applicable laws.

  • Support Technical Services Management as required in effective recruitment, selection, training, and certification of personnel, As well as appraising performance; rewarding and counselling His / Her team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems with participation of Technical Services Management.

  • Work closely with Technical Services HSE team to engineer out potential hazards, to provide a safe working environment, for all employees.

  • Be informed of changes to applicable International Standards and communicate them to relevant departments for implementation & compliance.

  • Execution of other tasks and duties as assigned by Technical Services Management

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Education:

  • Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Electromechanics or equivalent

Experience:

  • At least 15+ years of similar role, preferably within shipbuilding or similar industry

Languages:

  • Fluent in English
