Job Purpose

We are looking to hire Material Engineering Specialist, who will be responsible for but not limited to:

• Create & maintain of Company Material Categorization (Material Classification and Coding System) Structure.
• Create & maintain Company Part ID database in the Material management system.
• Creation of Material specifications in the Material management system and interfacing with 3D design tool Catalogues. 

Key Accountabilities & Working Relationships

Key Accountabilities:

• Entry of bulk Material Take Off and drawings-wise Bill of Materials into the Material management system.
• Preparation of Purchase Requisitions (PR) along with all necessary attachments such as specifications, datasheets etc. for enquiry and purchase.
• Technical Bid Evaluation regarding Materials.
• Verification of Vendor Documents and Certifications.
• To ensure the materials are on track as per project requirement and schedule.
• Preparation of various reports from the Material management system during different phases of the project.
• Support bids and proposal as required.
• Co-ordination as required with other Departments and Suppliers regarding materials.
• Supporting, problem solving and training end users on Material management system.
• Ensure compliance to Health, Safety & Quality Assurance (HS&QA) policies and procedures as applicable.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable information security policies and procedures.

Working Relationships:

Internal Interactions: 

• Internal Engineering Department, other business work-streams within the company, Division Head, Engineering Manager

External Interactions:

•  Subcontractors, Consultants, Suppliers 

Who we are looking for

Education:

• Diploma in Engineering / Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Civil Engineering 

Experience:

• 10 + years in any engineering company. Preference will be given for those had worked in ship and rig building yard, major construction yard, EPC contractor and/or consultant company as material controller/coordinator

Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations):

• Preferred – Any additional certification / training on CAD tools and systems. 

Languages:

• English. (Mandatory)
• Arabic / Others (desirable)
