Senior Engineer, Cost Control II, I
  • Ensure that all project Cost Control related activities are carried out in accordance with Company policies and Procedures. Analyze existing budgets and making improvements, verification, reviewing plans, and preparing quantity estimates, negotiating with Clients/ Contractors, as well as building relationships with Clients and site Managers.

Key Accountabilities
  • Develop systems and procedures for Cost Control Function (including interface with ERP team during establishment / troubleshooting phase) and monitor project total expenditure including verification and checking of invoices, claims from Suppliers, Vendors and Subcontractors to ensure that all project expenditures are captured and properly recorded.

  • Scrutinizing workforce and material cost, as well as contracts to ensure the best deals.

  • Keeping track of project manhours, materials, consumables, and equipment usage including AMMO.

  • Managed any changes in project SoW, received variations from Clients and revised project budgets. Coordinate with the project stake holders on the same.

  • Prepare project invoices and follow up on the related payments.

  • Negotiate price of change orders and manage the amended contract.

  • Identify, analyze, and develop responses to commercial risks.

  • Upload all relevant project cost and expenses data in the designated project management software with clear schedules of when the expenses are likely to be incurred.

  • Create a process of information flow with respect to each expense head (such as material, manpower, AMMO, PMT etc.).

  • Monitor cost performance and generate variance / exceptions reports as and when required. Present the same to the Project Manager and obtain approval to distribute further as per matrix.

  • Participate in the project review meetings and provide any cost related data as and when required by the project stake holders.

  • Update Project budget, margin & invoices while comparing them with the baseline budgeted cost.

  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities as and when directed by head of department.

  • Maintenance activities and practices in assets of the company is an advantage.

Education
  • Batchelor’s Engineering Degree (or equivalent)

  • Excellent knowledge MS Office (excel, word, power point etc.), Primavera P6 preferable.

  • CCP / PMP Certificate preferable (but not essential)

Experience
  • Minimum 12-15 years’ experience in relevant industry performing the Cost Control and Quantity Survey role with at least 5 years exposure at Senior level role.

  • Offshore or Onshore project fabrication/ construction experience (Rig / Lift boat/ Ship Building / MRO).
