Job Purpose

The position holder the planning and scheduling of maintenance activities for equipment and facilities. This entry-level role involves assisting senior planners, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring that maintenance tasks are carried out efficiently and effectively.

Key Accountabilities
  • Receive and log maintenance requests from various divisions and stakeholders.

  • Review and prioritize maintenance tasks based on urgency, importance, and routine activities.

  • Schedule maintenance activities according to established procedures and instructions.

  • Coordinate with maintenance staff and other relevant teams to ensure availability of resources and timely completion of tasks.

  • Monitoring the progress of scheduled maintenance activities to ensure adherence to the timeline.

  • Track and update maintenance records, ensuring accurate and current information is available.

  • Prepare and provide regular status reports on maintenance activities to managers and relevant stakeholders.

  • Highlight any delays, issues or deviations from the schedule and propose solutions to address them.

  • Communicate effectively with maintenance team, supervisors, and other divisions to facilitate smooth workflow.

  • Ensure all stakeholders are informed about the scheduled maintenance activities and any changes to the schedule.

  • Maintain detailed and organized records of all maintenance requests, schedules and completed tasks.

  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, up to date, and accessible for review and auditing purposes.

  • Identify opportunities for improving the maintenance planning and scheduling process.

  • Assist in development and implementation of best practices and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Education:

Diploma degree in Facilities management or equivalent.

  • Professional Qualifications:

Additional training or certification in facilities management, maintenance planning is advantageous.

  • Experience:

At least 3-6 years’ experience of a similar role, preferably within shipbuilding or similar industry.

  • Languages:

Excellent command of English (writing and speech).

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient in using maintenance management software and other relevant computer applications.

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Basic understanding of maintenance processes and procedures.
