Job Purpose

Role of this job is to ensure that all flat block assembly work and related activities are executed safely, effectively, and efficiently in accordance with applicable technical specifications, company policies, procedures, and work instructions. It is also required to perform flat block assembly management in accordance with documented plans and requirement for projects and continually improve flat block assembly productivity.

Key Accountabilities

1. Flat Block Assembly Production management:

Monitoring productivity of all flat block assembly activities in shipbuilding and rig construction including subcontractors’ production and ensuring timely completion of works fulfilling quality and safety. Collaborating with other departments/zones to develop and implement new processes, systems, and procedures that continually increase efficiency and productivity.

2. Planning for Flat Block Assembly:

Developing a clear production execution strategy and plan for flat block assembly, load analysis, block transportation/arrangement, and manpower. Planning and monitoring materials for flat block assembly and consumables for the project in advance.

3. HSE Management:

Pursuing zero harm to employees by ensuring that all flat block assembly activities are executed safely in compliance with HSE standards/procedures and TDS/MSDS of material.

4. Resource Management:

Taking primary responsibility for allocating and managing manpower and resources for flat block assembly work, in accordance with the project schedule and budget. Monitoring actual asset costs/man-hours against budgeted costs/man-hours and take corrective action for overruns. Coordinating with other production departments/zones and the Asset Management group to avoid asset and resource duplication.

5. Space Planning:

Planning and managing the use of flat block assembly shop and yard space based on current project requirements and potential project awards.

6. Training for Flat Block Assembly Works:

Preparing work procedures and instructions for all flat block assembly activities required for shipbuilding and rig projects. Preparing assembly training materials for workers and production managers and conducting appropriate training regularly.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in shipbuilding or mechanical engineering or equivalent.

Experience:

3-9 years of relevant experience in shipbuilding or other engineering company for experienced hire

Languages:

Good communication skills in English (speaking, writing, reading)

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

1. Knowledge of ship engineering and production processes at a professional level

2. Strong communication skills for internal and external coordination within the organization

3. Ability to swiftly resolve production issues

4. Leadership and management skills for handling various situations
