Job Purpose
We are looking to hire Specialist, General Arrangement Design
This job role is to ensure Execute Naval Architecture / General Arrangement Engineering Designing activities for rig building and MRO projects.
Key Accountabilities & Working Relationships
Key Accountabilities:
The Specialist, General Arrangement Design who will be responsible for but not limited to:
• Work activity planning, distribution, monitoring and checking for the development of Naval Architecture/ safety Design & Construction drawings.
• Supervise team of Draftsmen.
• Work in multiple projects and prepare detail drawings and material take-offs based on Basic Design drawings / sketches provided by Designers and Engineers.
• Ensure the deliverables meet the customer’s Technical Specifications, Company standards, requirements of production and other statutory regulations.
• Act as checker on design related deliverables.
• Work on 3D model and/or 2D package following drafting standard, maintaining clarity, quality, and completeness of details.
• Performs periodic overall model reviews to assure level of content.
• Participate in 3D model review as required.
• Reviews for overall completeness, general safety issues, access and egress, materials handling scheme being adhered to, maintenance and operability, etc.
• Maintain high technical quality in drafting with consistent presentation ensuring clarity and ease of construction.
• Review and update discipline design guidelines and standards.
• Estimate drawing quantities for design deliverables.
• Develop and maintain drawing lists.
• Gather and review applicable codes, standards, and Supplier requirements to define installation requirements, and communicate requirements to the design team.
• Review and comment on Supplier drawings.
• Propose design improvements and lessons learned.
• Analyze options to optimize cost and scheduling.
• Prepare as-built documentation.
• Support bids and proposals as required.
• Provide design inputs and prepare Fire and Safety Plans, General Arrangement drawings and Naval Architecture
• Perform site survey, as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures as applicable.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable information security policies & procedures.

Internal Interactions:
• Internal Engineering Department, other business work-streams within the company, Division Head – Naval Architecture & Architectural, Engineering Manager.
External Interactions:
• Subcontractors, Consultants
Who we are looking for
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Discipline.
Experience:
• At least 3-9+ years in General Arrangement in any engineering company. Preference will be given for those had worked in ship and rig building yard, major construction yard, EPC contractor and/or Consultant Company.
Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations):
• Preferred – Any additional certification / training on CAD tools and systems.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
• Knowledge/Experience in AutoCAD, PDMS / AVEVA or equivalent.
• Good knowledge of International Codes and Standards, Marine Regulations and Classification Rules.
• Knowledge/Experience in Naval Architectural/Marine Drafting involving General Arrangements, Safety Plans, etc.
