Job Purpose
We are looking to hire Senior Engineer, HVAC,
This job role is to ensure to lead the HVAC discipline in Accommodation division and manage day to day activities of the overall detail/production drawings in Ship Building.
Key Accountabilities & Working Relationships
Key Accountabilities:
The Senior Engineer, HVAC who will be responsible for but not limited to:
Determine the locations of various dampers, silencers, and fans are arranged in accordance with relevant laws and regulations and Building specifications.
From the Accommodation Plan, determine the air volume required for each room from the area, ventilation frequency, and heat generation information of each room.
Determine duct size according to wind volume, considering noise and pressure drop etc.
Collect and reflect information on the amount of heat generated in electrical equipment and each space inside the accommodation from other functions.
Decide on a fire protection and insulation system in accordance with Building Specifications and Rules & Regulations, and design it considering Thermal Insulation and Sound Insulation.
Determine the specifications and fire rate of duct and fittings in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
Understand Maker drawings of the major equipment and electrical equipment installed in the accommodation and reflect them in the design such as Air co, plant, Provision ref plant, galley, laundry, Miscellaneous Equipment, Elevator etc.
Determine HVAC and Duct and Fittings materials are installed in accordance with Building Specification and relevant laws and regulations.
Discuss and decide on the HVAC work in the space where the relevant departments are located.
Create HVAC installation drawings and shop drawings related to production drawings of the accommodation area and manage maker drawings.
Review and respond to comments on ship owner and classification society approval drawings and revise production drawings to reflect them.

Internal Engineering departments, other business work-streams within the company.

Suppliers, Subcontractors, consultants, inspection agencies.
Who we are looking for
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
Experience:
9-15 years in Accommodation division of HVAC / Mechanical design in offshore rig building or ship building industry.
Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations):
Preferred – Any additional certification / courses in HVAC engineering.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
Sound knowledge of International marine Rules & Regulations (IMO convention, Codes etc.), Classification Society Rules, Flag state national Rules, Industrial standards & guidelines.
Demonstrated ability to apply HVAC principles in the development and specification of HVAC systems and components.
Working knowledge of HVAC equipment, fan curves, coil psychometrics, pressure drop, heat transfer and ducted systems.
Working knowledge of Architecture layout design (fireproof design, anti-vibration design, interior color scheme, etc.).
Exposure to 2D AutoCAD and 3D design tools like AVEVA.
Experience in heat load calculation software like HAP or equivalent.
Demonstrated high order interpersonal skills and the ability to operate within a multinational environment.
Demonstrated ability to influence and motivate others regarding continuous improvement.
