Your future role & Job Purpose

Purpose:

  • Position holder is responsible to ensure cost-efficient and safe operation of all the mechanical components related to the ship-lift and transfer system, Manage asset reliability/availability risks that could adversely affect the business, leads the day-to-day maintenance in coordination with Asset Management Department’s maintenance team and recommends measures to prevent failures reoccurrence, Lead a group of Assistant mechanics and other operation team to fulfill his task and Comply with IMI Policies & Procedures and values, Quote: 

Key Accountabilities & Working Relationships

Accountabilities :

  • Assists in ensuring that HPU, bogies, motors, alarms, sensors and HMI, trestles, and other ship- lift & Transfer System equipment are in safe operational state, tested and certified if any, and kept clean and serviceable.

  • Coordinate with the different IMI sections for any requirements to ensure work activities are done safely and environmentally friendly with zero tolerance.

  • Ensure participation in preparation, alignment, and transfer of trestles and bogies on platform well before docking operation.

  • Assists in preparation of transfer system zones as per docking plan to ensure safe lifting and transfer operation. Flushing of hydraulic system to be carried out where required.

  • Assists in Preparation of diagrams, charts, drawings, calculations, and reports to define ship-lift problems and make recommendations for improvements.

  • Follow the ship-lift preventive/ predictive maintenance plans to ensure these are in full alignment with the reliability plans and targets.

  • Participates in the final check out of new installations. This includes factory and site acceptance testing that will assure adherence to functional specifications.

  • During the docking operation and following the instructions of the Group Leader/ superintendent/ Dock Master, HPU, bogies, Trestles and any other required ship-lift equipment are operational and ensure it is used as per the OEMs’ recommendations.

  • Communicate regularly with the maintenance team to report any deficiencies and to follow up routine maintenance tasks.

  • Assist maintenance team in trouble shooting any deficiency and relative blueprint drawings reading.

  • Ensure the scope of work defined by the management is fulfilled as per company procedures and policies.

Who are we Looking for

Education

  • B.S Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.

Experience

  • 0-6 years of relevant experience. 

Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations):

  • It is a plus to have a working knowledge of OSHA / NEBOSH and ISO standards and practices.

  • Excellent Computer Skills in MS Office

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

  • Understanding of Health and Safety practices.

  • Excellent team working skills.

Languages

  • English. - Excellent English communication Skills (verbal and writing)

  • Arabic / Others (desirable)
