NBR Superintendent (Derrick)
  • Responsible for the overall construction and system integration of Derrick structure. To provide on-site coordination for all phases of work, including coordination and planning of materials, workers/ subcontractors allocation and detailed scheduling as per project requirements. To ensure projects are completed safely, on time.

Key Accountabilities
  • To involve & provide input for the build strategy during initial stages of the project in close coordination with production Engineers & Engineering department.

  • To plan fabrication of components, sub- assembly and assembly of Derrick structure as per yard resources.

  • Construction sequence to maintain stringent dimensional controls for effective installation onto the Drillfloor.

  • To plan ROS dates for all equipment based on project timeline and schedule. Responsible for the delivery of Equipment in compliance with system specifications.

  • Equipment installation to adhere to stringent dimension controls. All dimensions to be verified before equipment tie down and Mechanical Completion.

  • Coordination with other trades and vendors for the integration of systems for a smooth handover for Commissioning purposes.

  • Ensure day-to-day running of the project is functioning in accordance with the project schedule and budget.

  • Implement, monitor, and drive the project schedule. Promptly notify management team of schedule and performance issues, be proactive in anticipating potential problems that may impact the project performance.

  • Provide progress reporting and schedule management on Construction deliverables.

  • Have weekly schedule coordination meetings with all subcontractor foremen to outline requirements of work completion, and other issues as may be required including but not limited to manpower requirements, interference coordination, inspections, and sequence of work. Distribute three-week look ahead schedules and communicate schedule requirements with all subcontractors.

  • Should possess strong knowledge and understanding of shipyard HSEQ regulations and rig building job certification requirements and ensure the same is communicated to the project team on a regular basis.

  • Identify the work priorities, focus on the critical path, analyze the work problems in writing with own problem solving mentality, accurate supervision, decision-maker with a strong convincing personality, full readiness with 'Plan B' for any unexpected issues.

Education
  • Diploma in Engineering (Technical Qualification).

  • Bachelor Engineering Degree (preferred).

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in the English Language.

Experience
  • For bachelor’s degree holder, at least 9-15 years of experience in shipyard and preferably involved in offshore activities and/or rig building.

  • Diploma holders must have at least 15 years of experience in the same industry and related experience.

  • Experienced in handling rig building and similar offshore related projects which are of high value and with technical complexities.
