JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE

 

Position is responsible in ensuring that all activities in IMI (including IMI controlled areas of other sites) are executed in accordance with the IMI Integrated Management System requirements and assist in facilitating ongoing regulatory compliance will all applicable legal, contractual, and regulatory requirements and obligations. This position will provide leadership, mentoring, training and coordination to Environmental Specialist, Engineer, and Inspector and ensuring the implementation of environmental regulation.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

• Develop, establish, and ensure effective and efficient implementation of Environmental regulation, procedures and standards relating to IMI’s Zones Activities.

• Technical Guidance and Services

• Provide comprehensive regulatory and technical expertise to develop and implement major environmental programs.

• Develops strategies for managing complex or sensitive environmental issues related to specific zones operation, business and corporate initiatives in all compliance and responsible environmental management areas pertinent to IMI’s Zones Activities.

• Provides environmental expertise, guidance, and support to zones to assist in maintaining regulatory compliance and achieving environmental objectives.

• Monitoring and evaluation of implementation plan and follow-up support.

• Sustainability & ESG report.

• Fulfil the requirement of NCEC, and MWAN Regulation to ensure the integrated management system is in place.

• Fulfil the requirement of ISO14001 standards to ensure the integrated management system is in place.

• Lead the risk assessments and task reviews of key activities in the zones, to identify and prevent probable environmental hazards leading to significant losses.

 

 

Education & Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations)

 

Bachelor’s degree in environmental planning, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biological Science, Environmental Management, or Science).

 

• Attained or working towards obtaining the NEBOSH Diploma in Environment.

• Attained or working towards obtaining the international membership in Environment

Experience

 

Minimum experience of 3-9 years in an Environmental filed in the following areas: permitting, environmental regulatory compliance (air, water, soil, waste), assessment of environmental impact, site investigations and field surveys, source monitoring, and monitoring of the ambient environment.
