Job Purpose

We are looking to hire Engineer, Instrumentation I,

This job role is to ensure To perform and execute engineering design related to Electrical & Instrumentation systems in various projects by the engineering function.

Key Accountabilities & Working Relationships:

Key Accountabilities:

The Engineer, Instrumentation I who will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Contribute to the preparation of Project specific specifications for Basic / Detail engineering, Feasibility studies and Tender documents, under the guidance of the Senior / Lead Engineer.

  • Co-ordination with Internal Departments as instructed.

  • Responsible for the accuracy of own assigned design deliverables.

  • Report day to day project activities to the Senior / Lead Engineer.

  • Responsible for the execution and control of the tasks assigned by the Senior / Lead Engineer.

  • Responsible for reporting, controlling, and monitoring the job execution.

  • Prepare various engineering deliverables (Drawings & Documents) such as Instrument Layouts, Loop Diagram, Termination Drawings, Block Diagrams, Cable Schedule, Instrument Hook ups, Instrument Calculations & Analysis, Valve Sizing, P& IDs, Instrument Data Sheets, Instrumentation Specifications, Fire & Gas System, Telecom System, etc. as assigned by the Senior / Lead engineer.

  • Participate and assist in Inter Disciplinary Checks (IDC).

  • Prepare Material Take Off (MTO) as required.

  • Material engineering which includes preparation of Purchase specifications, Purchase requisition (as required), Technical bid Evaluation and Supplier document review.

  • Ensure that designs comply with relevant codes, standards, regulations, and procedures & contract.

  • Attend project and engineering review meetings, process & safety workshops, site surveys, FAT, SAT, and Inspections as instructed by the Senior / Lead Engineer.

  • Provide Input and support to operations, commissioning & completions team.

  • Responsible for change management & risk identification related to own assigned activities.

  • Propose design improvements and lessons learned.

  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures as applicable.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable information security policies & procedures.

Working Relationships:

Internal Interactions: 

  • Internal Engineering Department, other business work-streams within the company, Division Head – Electrical & Instrumentation.

External Interactions:

  • Customer, Supplier, Subcontractors, Consultants, Inspection Agencies

Who we are looking for

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation Engineering or electrical engineering or equivalent.

Experience:

  • 3-9 years in engineering design department of any offshore rig building or ship building industry or Oil & Gas industry.

Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations):

  • Preferred – Any additional certification / courses in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

  • Sound knowledge of international codes & standards, maritime regulations, and class rules.

  • Design experience in Instrumentation engineering software used in marine industry such as INTools, InstruCals, Etap.

  • Exposure to AutoCAD & 3D design tools like AVEVA E3D Design & AVEVA Engineering Electrical.

  • Demonstrated high order interpersonal skills and the ability to operate within a multinational environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and motivate others with regards to continuous improvement.

  • Good communication and presentation skills.

Languages:

  • English. (Mandatory)

  • Arabic / Others (desirable)
