PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE
Asset Reliability Engineer is responsible to safely, timely and cost-effectively identify and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect a plant or business. He/she leads the root cause failure analysis, develops repair procedures, and recommends measures to prevent failures reoccurrence.
To preserve the function of our physical assets throughout their life period to the satisfaction of international standards through continued process improvement, selecting and applying the most cost-effective techniques along with proactively preventing and managing failures and their consequences
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Adhere to regulations, quality, security, and safety standards.
• Liaise with asset management team, maintenance technicians, contractors to ensure full and timely support is provided.
• Originates and develops analysis methods to determine reliability of components, equipment, and processes.
• Prepares diagrams, charts, drawings, calculations, and reports to define reliability problems and make recommendations for improvements.
• Review and approve all the assets preventive/predictive maintenance plans to ensure these are in full alignment with the reliability plans and targets.
• Conducts analysis of reliability problems and investigates to determine the required reliability approach for a particular situation, with consideration given to cost limitations for equipment uptime/downtime, repair/replacement costs and weight, size, and availability of materials/equipment.
• Determines cost advantages of alternatives and develops action plans that comply with internal/external customer demands for reliable processes/equipment to avoid failures.
• Works with Project Engineering to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations.
• Participates in the final check out of new installations. This includes factory and site acceptance testing that will ensure adherence to functional specifications.
• Provides input to a Risk Management Plan that will anticipate reliability-related, and non-reliability-related risks that could adversely impact plant operation.
• Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations.
• Own and manage Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS).
• Monitor assets Life Cycle phases and make decisions accordingly.
• Provides technical support to production, maintenance management and technical personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Reliability, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Master’s degree in Reliability, Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering is a plus but not required.
Professional Qualifications:
IAM Certificate is a plus.
CMRP Certificate is a plus.
Experience:
At least 3-9 years of relevant reliability experience.
Experienced in developing and implementing preventive/predictive.
