Your future role & Job Purpose

We are looking to hire Engineer II, Ship-lift System, who will be responsible for but not limited to

  • Ensuring cost-efficient and safe operation of all the mechanical components related to the ship-lift and transfer system, Manage asset reliability/availability risks that could adversely affect the business, leads the day-to-day maintenance in coordination with the Asset Management Department’s maintenance team and recommends measures to prevent failures reoccurrence, Lead a group of Assistant mechanics and other operation teams to fulfill his task and Comply with IMI Policies & Procedures and values.
Key Accountabilities & Working Relationships

Key Accountabilities:

  • Assists in ensuring safe ship-lift hoist and platform operation through Control Desk/ Control Room software based and alarms etc. are addressed appropriately before proceeding further.
  • During the docking operation and following the instructions of the Senior Operator/ superintendent/Dock Master, ensure loads adjustment on winches and any other required ship-lift equipment operation.
  • Ensure preparation of winches and platform well before docking operation.
  • Ensure all winches, alarms, sensors, motors, MCC, control room and other ship-lift equipment are in safe operational state, tested and certified if any, and kept clean and serviceable.
  • Assists in Preparation of diagrams, charts, drawings, calculations, and reports to define ship-lift problems and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Assists in Follow up the ship-lift preventive/ predictive maintenance plans to ensure these are in full alignment with the reliability plans and targets.
  • Participates in the final check out of new installations. This includes factory and site acceptance testing that will ensure adherence to functional specifications.
  • During the docking operation and following the instructions of the Group Leader/ superintendent/ Dock Master ensure that any other required ship-lift equipment is operational and ensure it is used as per the OEMs’ recommendations.
  • Communicate regularly with the maintenance team to report any deficiencies and to follow up routine maintenance tasks.
  • Assist maintenance team in trouble shooting any deficiency and relative blueprint drawings reading.
  • Ensure the scope of work defined by the management is fulfilled as per company procedures and policies.

Who we are looking for

Education:

  • B.S Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.

Experience:

  • 0-6 years of experience in a relevant field 

Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations):

  • It is a plus to have a working knowledge of OSHA / NEBOSH and ISO standards and practices.
  • Excellent Computer Skills in MS Office

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

  • Understanding of Health and Safety practices.
  • Excellent team working skills.

Languages:

  • English. (Mandatory)
  • Arabic / Others (desirable)
