Purpose: 

• The position holder is responsible of managing a critical design & drafting requirement and accountability. Helping construction team for site & CNC requirement. Full control & administration of all elements relating to the project development and execution ensuring that it is implemented according to design specifications, standards, Company Policy and Quality Management system. 

Responsibilities:

1. Work on 3D Model and/or 2D package following drafting standard, maintaining clarity, quality, and completeness of details. Prepare MTO & help in PR process.
2. Reviews for overall completeness, general safety, access and egress, materials handling, maintenance, and operability etc.
3. Work with project manager & engineer to assure that project & design is closed out properly upon completion.
4. Perform any designer functions of previous levels.
5. Ensure interdisciplinary and management review, check, and approval of design deliverables.
6. Work with Customer on conceptual design.
7. Gather and review applicable codes, standards, and Supplier requirements to define installation requirements, and communicate requirements to the design team.
8. Review and comment on Supplier drawings.
9. Establish & maintain company standards and review & update discipline design guidelines and standards.
10. Perform site survey, as necessary.
11. Supervise project closeout including as built documentation.

    Project Team Responsibility: 

12. Plan and schedule team activities and help improve team performance.
13. Estimate drawing quantities, MH’s, for design deliverables and develop & maintain drawing list.
14. Mentor the site construction team providing leadership & guidance to resolve identified construction issues.
15. Assist the project Manager & Project engineer for project requirements.
16. Ensure compliance with Customer and Company’s requirements.

     

    Project Safety & HSE Responsibility: 

17. Ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures as applicable.
18. Ensure compliance with all applicable information security policies & procedures.

     

    Project Key Accountability

19. Design work in Yard requirements, jigs & fixtures, Rig and Ship building - 80% of the time approx.
20. Coordination / communication (internal and external) - 10% of the time approx.
21. Progress of project deliverables / commitments - 10% of the time approx.
22. Communicate and negotiate with a wide range of project stakeholders.
23. Interface management with Engineering / Projects / QA QC and other IMI functional departments.

Education:

• B.S Degree in ITI Draftsmanship, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. 

Experience:

• 9-15 years in Rig construction Shipyard. 
• Preference will be given for those had worked in ship and rig building yard, major construction yard, EPC contractor and/or Consultant Company using AutoCAD & AVEVA 3D modelling, & Nesting software.
  

• Drafting software’s competency certification.
• Preferred – Any additional certification / training on CAD tools and systems. 

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

• Conversant with International Codes and Standards, Marine regulations, and Classification rules.
• Experience in AutoCAD for 2D drafting and/or AVEVA Marine for 3D Hull and structural modeling.
• Experience in plate / profile nesting and CNC program, preferable.
• Communication - To be clear and decisive.
• Situation Management - Dynamic decision making where required.
• Demonstrated high order interpersonal skills and ability to operate within a multinational environment.
• Good communication skills (both written & verbal) with ability to interact across multiple disciplines.
• Experience in fabrication / construction / installation engineering of various structures.
• Computer proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point, Project.
• Experience in working with diverse cultures.
• Resilient under stress and capable of managing competing priorities.
• Well-developed presentation skills and excellent interpersonal skills
• Be Physically fit, and able to complete a full medical.
• The ability to manage large multi-disciplinary teams, across a broad range of technologies.
• Demonstrates ability to listen to the views of others and respond in a logical, well thought out manner without the need to resort to authority.
