Your future role & Job Purpose
Job Purpose:
We are looking to hire Project Engineer - (Civil / Mechanical) who will be responsible for but not limited the supervision of Civil and Mechanical elements relating to the Project Construction & Steel Fabrication, ensuring compliance in accordance to design standards, Company Policy and Quality Management System.
Key Accountabilities & Working Relationships
Key Accountabilities:
- Review and analyze Civil & Mechanical engineering deliverables (Drawings & Specifications) for compliance to specified codes, standards, company policy and practices.
- Preparation and monitoring of project schedules & budgets.
- Develop reports and presentations as required.
- Supervise the steel fabrication (cutting, welding, post heat treatment and handling) for Jigs & Fixtures over the project phases as per IMI capital project requirements.
- Review testing/commissioning/FAT/endurance procedures and assist with development as required.
- Communicate with key stakeholders offering civil & mechanical technical input to resolve identified inter discipline conflict during project design or execution phase.
- Utilize knowledge of asset management standards ISO 55000/1/2 and implement during the project execution phase as necessary.
- Work with HSE to engineer out identified potential risks or hazards, to provide a safe working environment for all employees.
- Monitor and manage equipment installation ensuring that best in class returns is achieved.
- Manage required documentation & certification during project execution according to IMI Document Control Policy & Procedure.
- You will need to have a proven track record of managing change and achieving commercial results.

Internal Interactions:
- Ability to effectively communicate strategic direction through sound logical, commercial, and technical reasoning, with all functional areas in the organization. Promote a “can-do” team spirit creating a culture of high standards, work ethic and job satisfaction within the department.
External Interactions:
- Contact with other Divisions within Maritime Yard to exchange information related to their function area. former employees and dependents to exchange information.
Who we are looking for
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or equivalent.
Experience:
- 3-9 years’ experience as a Project Engineer in shipbuilding, oil & gas or equivalent industry.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
- Demonstrates ability to listen to the views of others and respond in a logical, well thought out manner without the need to resort to authority.
- Well-developed presentation skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
- The ability to manage large multi-disciplinary teams, across a broad range of technologies.
- Be Physically fit, and able to complete a full medical.
- Good habits.
- Resilient under stress and capable of managing competing priorities.
- Experience in working with diverse cultures.
- Must have a thorough understanding of Asset Management systems, ERP systems, and relevant ISO certification. Computer proficient in design software, Word, Excel, Project etc.
