Job Purpose
We are looking to hire Senior Engineer - Electrical (Rig Building)
This job role is to ensure
- Responsible for the Electrical and/or Instrument discipline in the assigned project.
- Coordination with internal Departments, Customer, Supplier & Inspection Agencies as instructed by the Lead Engineer.
- Activity planning, work assignment, work scheduling and monitoring of own and assigned team.
- Preparation of design basis, project specific specifications and datasheets for basic/ detail engineering, feasibility studies, analysis / calculations, and tender document preparation.
Key Accountabilities & Working Relationships
Key Accountabilities:
The Senior Engineer - Electrical (Rig Building) who will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Engineering design work in rig building - 80% of the time approx.
- Coordination / communication (internal and external) - 10% of the time approx.
- Progress of project deliverables/commitments - 10% of the time approx.
- Report day to day project activities to the Lead Engineer/ Division Head.
- Preparation of various engineering deliverables (drawings & documents) such as SLD's, P&IDs, block diagrams, wiring schematics, sizing calculations & analysis, datasheets, equipment specifications, cause & effect diagrams, hook ups, schedules and lists, control philosophies, shutdown philosophies, layouts, and other documents, as assigned by the Lead Engineer.
- Participate and assist in Inter disciplinary checks and coordination.
- Material engineering which includes preparation of purchase specifications, purchase requisition (as required), technical bid evaluation and Supplier document review.
- Ensure that designs comply with the relevant codes, standards, regulations, and procedures & contract.
- Responsible for the accuracy of design deliverables.
- Attend project & engineering review meetings, process & safety workshops, site surveys, FAT's & Inspections and site surveys as instructed by the Lead Engineer/ Division Head.
- Provide engineering support to operations, commissioning, and completions team.
- Responsible for change management & risk identification.
- Identify the design improvements and lesson learned.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures as applicable.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable information security policies & procedures.
Working Relationships:
Internal Interactions:
- Internal Engineering Department, other business work-streams within the company, Division Head - E&I.
External Interactions:
- Customers, Supplier, Subcontractors, Consultants, Inspection Agencies.
Who we are looking for
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience:
- 5/+ years in engineering design department of any offshore rig building or ship building industry.
Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations):
- Preferred - Anv additional certification I courses in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
- Sound knowledge of international codes & standards, maritime regulations, and class rules
- Design experience in electrical engineering software used in marine industry such as ETAP, Lighting illumination.
- Exposure to AutoCAD & 3D design tools like AVEVA.
- Demonstrated high order interpersonal skills and the ability to operate within a multinational environment.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and motivate others with regards to continuous improvement.
- Good communication and presentation skills .
