Job Purpose
We are looking to hire QC Welding Administrator cum Inspector,
This job role is to ensure Function under quality control to execute the welder’s qualification and monitor the PQR qualifications.
Key Accountabilities & Working Relationships
Key Accountabilities:
The QC Welding Administrator cum Inspector who will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Witness the welder qualifications and maintenance of WQT records.
- Witness the welder qualifications and maintenance of PQR records.
- Coordinate with operation team to expedite the welder & procedure qualifications.
- Regular renewal and update the welder certificates.
- Prepare the welder list – General & project wise.
- Prepare the Job clearance card (Welder ID) for every individual welder for each process qualified.
- Prepare NDT request and coordinate with NDT team to perform.
- Continuous monitor the welder rejection rate and report to operation for further action.
- Coordinate with TPIA agency for qualification witness and test laboratories for mechanical testing.
- Monitor & witness the welding consumable receiving inspection and maintain the test records.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable information security policies & procedures.

- Quality Control Manager.
- Senior Welding Engineer.
- Welding Supervisor, Foreman and Welders.
- Production/Fabrication Supervisors.
- Production Engineers/Supervisors/Foremen.
External Interactions:
- Classification societies .
- Third Party Inspectors, NDT Agency and Mechanical Testing Laboratory
Who we are looking for
Education:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent.
Experience:
- 6/+ years’ experience , preferably has shipyard experience.
Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations):
- Certification in NDT methods will be an added advantage.
- CSWIP 3.1/AWS-CWI or equivalent Certification.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
- Communicate (written & oral) in the English language with confidence.
- Excellent listening skills, assertiveness, and ability to coach subordinates.
- Physically fit and able to work in extreme climatic conditions.
- Able to perceive the mood of a customer or subcontractor and react appropriately.
- Able to read, understand and interpret Engineering drawings.
- Good understanding of materials and welding metallurgy
- Excellent interpretation skill for welding and material related codes, standards, and specifications.
- Basic understanding of the principles of NDT with emphasis on the four basic methods employed in fabrication activities (UT, RT, PT, MT)
- Resilience under stress
- Demonstrate ability to listen to the views of others and respond in a logical and well-thought-out manner.
