Your future role & Job Purpose

We are looking to hire QC Inspector - Structural  , who will be responsible for but not limited to:

This job role is to ensure, Organize and manage all aspects of the workload of discipline engineers and designers, within the parameters of a project schedule 

 

Key Accountabilities & Working Relationships

Key Accountabilities:

  • Follow all relevant department policies, process, standard operating procedures, and instruction so that work is carried out in controlled and consistent manner
  • Assist QA/QC Engineer to review the Sub-Contractor's and Vendor's QA/QC deliverables i.e., Inspection and Test Plan, Work Procedures, Method Statement etc. to ensure they meet the specified project requirements and standards.
  • Conduct QC inspection and testing (Architecture/Finishes- walls, false ceiling, dry walls, doors, windows) based on Inspection and Test Plan, Checklist, Method Statement and Works Procedures. 
  • Plans and conduct surveillance audit on stored material and report accordingly the outcome. Ensure that companywide HSEQ standards, policies and procedures are applied. 
  • Check on Subcontractor's and worker's activities to ensure their works comply with project specification and international standards. Initiate Site Observation Report or Non-Conformance. 
  • Ensure that project dossier including vendor material documents are compiled, reviewed, and approved prior to submission. Provide Technical guidance on NA Designs of Bulkhead and deck classifications for fire protection, watertight/weathertight requirements, Operation Manuals, etc.
  • Carryout manpower estimation, work planning / forecast and effective utilization of manpower, progress monitoring and adherence to scheduled completion of engineering documents. 
  • Liaise with project management team, client, other department like Production, Planning and Engineering etc. to ensure material storage related risks and opportunities are communicated during the execution phase. Preparation of specification, technical evaluation, and vendor documentation review. 
  • Assist and support the Project Team in resolving any related quality issues / problems initiated by project stakeholders (internal and external) at site. 
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable information security policies & procedures.

Internal Interactions

  • Quality Control Manager, Quality Assurance Manager, HSE Team, Project Managers, Production/Fabrication/Engineering/Operation Managers Production Engineers/Supervisors/Foremen 

External Interactions

  • Customer Representatives, Third Party Inspectors, Classification societies, Contractors and Sub-contractor.

 

Who we are looking for

Education :

  • Graduation from the university or Diploma in Architecture

Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations) 

  • Communicate (written & oral) in the English language with confidence.
  • Good HSE knowledge and skills relative to the role
  • Excellent listening skills, assertiveness, and ability to coach subordinates.
  • Physically fit and able to work in extreme climatic conditions.
  • Able to perceive the mood of a customer or subcontractor and react appropriately.
  • Able to read, understand and interpret Engineering drawings.
  • Resilience under stress
  • Demonstrate ability to listen to the views of others and respond in a logical and well-thought-out manner.
  • Basic knowledge of materials
  • Good knowledge of Quality Management System
  • Excellent knowledge of documentation, computer operation, procedures & applicable ERP systems
  • Excellent understanding of vessel and rig terminologies, including naval architecture.
  • Conversant with Classification Rules/Regulatory Requirements such as ABS, DNV, BV, SOLAS, IMO, Load-line, CAP 437, etc

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5~8 years’ experience, relating to quality works of marine engineering industries (ship & drilling rigs building) with major Construction Yard/EPC contractor and/or consultant. 

Languages :

  • English / Arabic
