Job Purpose

We are looking to hire Project Controller, This job role is to ensure : 

  • Lead the Planning Engineers for the department.
  •  Assist Division Head Project & Control for developing planning and control procedures, standards and ensures 
    schedule and cost compliance.
  •  Resource planning & forecasting.
  • Analyze delay trends and provide mitigation plans.
  •  Controls and tracking the Engineering change management.
  •  Assist the department manager to establish and monitor department KPIs.
  •  Manage engineering status and progress reports – weekly / monthly.
  •  Interface with current projects and coordinate all team members to keep workflow on track.
  •  Represent engineering project planning & control function at senior management forums.
  •  Consolidation of engineering manhour estimate for bids.
  •  Progress monitoring and adherence to scheduled completion of engineering documents.
  • Attend project review meetings.
  •  Prepare and compile input from team members and various weekly reports.
  •  Responsible for change management and trend notifications.
  •  Monitor budget compliance of design deliverable production.
  •  Activity planning, work assignment, work scheduling and monitoring. Inter disciplinary checks & co-ordination.
  •  Support and coordinate project management through analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  •  To follow up project status of the ongoing projects and assist Division Head Project Planning & Controls on day-today business.
  •  Ensure compliance with all applicable information security policies & procedures.
  •  Ensure quality and accuracy of the engineering deliverables for the discipline and compliance with Health, Safety & 
    Environmental (HSE) responsibilities.
Key Accountabilities & Working Relationships

Key Accountabilities:

The Project Controller who will be responsible for but not limited to:

  •  Engineering Project Planning & Controls - 80% of the time approx.
  •  Coordination / communication (internal and external) - 20% of the time approx.
  •  Progress of project deliverables / commitments – 10% of the time approx. 

Working Relationships:

Internal Interactions:

  •  Internal Engineering Department, other business work-streams within the company, Division Heads, Engineering Manager, GM Engineering, VP Engineering

External Interactions:

  •  Engineering Subcontractors, Consultants, Planning and Schedule related.
Who we are looking for

Education: 

  •  Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

Experience:  

  •  10/+ years in lead role within engineering department of any offshore rig building or ship building industry.

Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations):  Preferred – any additional certification courses in Project Management and Planning.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities): 

  • Working experience in engineering project control with background in planning 
    (both schedule and cost).
  • Exposure to planning software like PRIMAVERA / MS PROJECT. 
  • Expert knowledge in MS EXCEL.
  • Good understanding of engineering processes and ERP system. 
  • Ability to understand & work through complex planning issues in support of ever 
    evolving business needs.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral & written) in the English language.
  • Demonstrated high order interpersonal skills and the ability to operate within a 
    multinational environment.
  • Good presentation skill.
