Your future role & Job Purpose

We are looking to hire Construction Supervisor, who will be responsible for but not limited to:

This job role is to ensure, coordinate and manage all on-site activities, as well work with project teams, including Project engineers, Foreman’s, and other field personnel’s, Departments to successfully deliver all assigned project. Ensures all works are executed safely, with desired level of quality, on time, and within budget in accordance with the contract / Project requirement and IMI's Management System. 

Key Accountabilities & Working Relationships

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensure all structural, Piping, and outfitting project works are executed safely on time and within schedule.
  • Work with the project teams to budget, forecast, and manage field personnel as well as management of labor, equipment, materials, tools, and other cost considerations.
  • Ensure all required materials, equipment, and inspections occur to support the project schedule.
  • Responsible for coordinating and supervision of removal, repair, Nesting/prefabrication, installation (fit up, welding and lifting), testing of Structural and outfitting (foundations, ladders, Channels, beams, handrails, bulkheads, and frames, and braces, Piping spools etc.,)
  • Can read and understand drawings, specifications, thickness gauging reports, repair procedures, As-built drawings, sketches, WPS, ITP, PRQ, written and verbal instructions. Good knowledge of Piping works, spools, material & associated welding requirements.
  • Ensure all the works are carried out in line with approved drawings and method statements.
  • Provide performance evaluations of field personnel.
  • Verifying dimensions, measurements, cutting and preparation for welding and able to install/erect the panels and blocks.
  • Able to handle the steel repair works on the deformation plates/bulkheads/Pitting etc.,
  • Prepare, submit, monitor, and control project technical queries and coordinate and supervise the daily activities of gangs/site operatives.
  • Supervising and managing the site construction activities carried out inhouse and subcontractor and ensure timely completion of works, fulfilling al quality and safety aspects and targets.
  • Ensure that labor resources are effectively and efficiently utilized in accordance with the project schedule.
  • Investigate labor and other productivity variances and report to the Production engineer and prepare manpower utilization.
  • Plan or adjust work hours to meet the production schedules and maintain time and production records.
  • Conducting safety and daily toolbox meetings, as well as explaining the risks associated with the job.
  • Responsibilities also include work permit administering.
  • Be aware of schedule opportunities and to liaise with the construction manager and production engineer on possible potential areas of risk or reward.
  • Coordinate technical issues relating to engineering design between customer and the project.
  • Investigate labor and other productivity variances and report to the engineers.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Security (HSES) responsibilities.
  • Physically fit and able to work in extreme climatic conditions and work pressure.
  • Able to take the lead and solve onsite technical issues and to monitor and close punch list items raised by customer.
  • Provide feedback on processes and procedures, as the company truly believes in continuous development.

Who we are looking for

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management OR Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Or Equivalent.

Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations):

  • T- BOSIET and H2S Certifications.
  • Confined space training.

Experience:

  • At least 10+ years of experience in the Offshore Oil and Gas Construction, shipyard/ship repair Industry.
  • Minimum 5+ years of proven leadership or supervisory role exp.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

  • Experience in shipbuilding/ship repair working environment.
  • Basic computer skills with experience in MS Office and MS Project preferred.
  • Familiar with the common welding types: shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW / MIG), and gas tungsten arc gas welding (GTAW / TIG) and FCAW.
  • Working knowledge of AWS, API, ANSI, and ASME codes and standards.
  • Capable of supervising structural work (Gouging, cutting, grinding, fitting for welding etc.) for fabrication, installation, removal, and repair works.
  • Experience in using steel cutting machines, plate bending machines, workshop cranes, bevel cutting machines, electrical or manual tools.
  • Ensures that the work assigned, and the subcontractor are completed on time and with adequate qualified skilled labor, and plant.
  • Knowledge on Preheating/ post heating and NDT procedures.
  • Knowledge on Material test certificate & Material traceability report.
  • Good knowledge in construction safety and permit to work procedures including quality issues.
  • Perform tank testing.
  • Can generate daily reports of work conducted and generate report in a timely manner.
  • Can lead and manage a team.
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Having experience in MS office.
