Your future role
Provides support and management to all aspects of Warehouse & Stores provision, either internally or by direct oversight and management of third parties.
Primary Accountabilities
- Lead the development and implementation of Warehouse and Distribution (W&D) strategies and action plans including development projects, operations, capacity building and day to day activities for assigned stores locations.
- Accountable for the purpose, strategy, and results of the Warehouse and stores functions/departments within the project.
- Lead the Warehouse functions/departments and consult with other areas of the business to deliver outstanding results while continually evaluating success.
- Use strategically important measurements to evaluate, as well as subjective evaluations as appropriate.
- Set and share a clear vision and objectives and effectively lead the teams that provides operational expertise in the Warehouse functions to implement effective strategy. Share information about what is being worked on within the Warehouse as well with others in leadership and as needed.
- Provide Assess and monitor distribution requirements and transportation capacity for integrated distribution and recommend solutions. Input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility.
- Responsible to lead and implement operational strategies, quality, delivery, profitability, and customer satisfaction objectives.
- Development, interpretation and implementation of policies, operating procedures and training programs, manuals, directives, work schedules, rules and regulations for the Warehouse and Stores staff and personnel.
- Develop metrics, KPI aligned with project goals and directions. Create Reports / Dashboards to allow concise visibility on the efficiency and cost effectiveness of Warehouse / Stores Operations, to drive continuous improvement.
- Responsible for personal development and training of all Warehouse & Stores Staff.
- Successfully develops and launches RFP’s for 3PL’s and other vendor/services related to warehouse operations.
- Manages relationships, agreements, and performance of 3rd Party Logistics operators.
- Oversee and apply risk assessments of safety, accident prevention, fire drills and first aid.
- Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring workplace safety and security procedures and protocols.
- Perform routine audits of all areas, create and review metrics for functional areas.
- Keeps senior management informed of the status of project deadlines, and regularly communicates resource needs and requirements.
- Develop strategy & innovation of warehouse and stores - including technologies to improve efficiencies, resiliency, and future-proof the operations.
- Develop and maintain effective communications between all operating departments.
- Conducts business reviews with key suppliers, subcontractors and/or vendors to discuss performance on a regular basis. Manages against contract performance to ensure that agreed upon cost, service, quality, schedule, and flexibility goals are met
- Manage procurement processes and coordinate material and resources allocation
- Manage Disaster supplies, processes, ensure warehouse is prepared to support facilities in all Disasters. Analyze root cause(s) of inventory-related issues and recommend resolution.
- Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issue work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
- Respond properly in any emergency or safety situation.
- Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by management.
