Your future role:

To work closely together with the construction manager and project team to ensure that all assigned projects are executed safely, on time, and within budget in accordance with the contract and International Maritime Industries Management System (IMIMS).

Your responsibilities:
  • Ensure all project works are executed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Coordinate/prepare, implement, and manage any required project related engineering method statements and execution plans.
  • Prepare, submit, monitor, and control project technical queries.
  • Ensure that labor resources are effectively and efficiently utilized in accordance with the project schedule and budget.
  • Investigate labor and other productivity variances and report to the construction manager or project manager.
  • Monitor all elements of work execution and provide input to the planning department as necessary.
  • Liaise and coordinate with Engineering, QC, customer, vendors, and subcontractors as required to ensure smooth integration of services with IMI production.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Security (HSES) responsibilities.
  • Be aware of the risk management system, the risk registers, and the respective responsibilities assigned.
  • Coordinate and supervise project related activities on site with supervisors and trades as required. 

Who we are looking for:
  • BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Technical Engineering Diploma/Qualification, or higher.
  • At least 10 years in Shipyard, Ship Repair, or the Oil & Gas Construction Industry. 
  • Capable of reading Engineering drawings, vendor drawings (machine drawings), and can determine required spare parts from drawings.
  • Capable of reading and understanding maintenance manuals, installation procedures, and overhauling procedures of equipment.
  • Sound knowledge in pumps, engines, drilling equipment, etc. And capable of performing and supervising overhauling of equipment.
  • Sound knowledge in the alignment of equipment (pumps, engines, gearboxes, etc.).
  • Able to understand and supervise pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.  
  • Able to take the lead and solve onsite technical issues and to monitor and close punch list items raised by customer.
  • Able to be the focal point and coordinate between QC, customer, manufacturer, and vendors as required.
  • Able to gather and analyze relevant information and coordinate work with other team members.
  • Ship Repair, Drilling Rigs, or Oil & Gas Construction experience/knowledge.
  • Construction Engineering and Documentation (work completion certificates, daily reports, etc.).
  • Relevant international standards.
  • Knowledge of regulatory body rules and standards.
  • Planning and Scheduling.
  • Estimating and quotation.
  • Negotiating and resolving conflict.
  • Problem solving and mitigation.
  • Assessing contractual needs and requirements.
  • Oral and written English communication skills.  
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
