Your future role

The Project Engineer (Painting and Coatings) primary role is to provide operational and technical surface preparation and coating expertise in support of the delivery of the specified project as well as the wider business objectives as part of the New Build Rig and Marine Operations business unit. This will include the supervision and guidance of contractors, subcontractors and self-delivered work teams in the production of surface painting and coating design, procurement, construction and to ensure that the project completion is done in compliance with the project contract requirements i.e. project schedule, cost, HSE, company standards and procedures Your main responsibility, in collaboration with the construction manager and the project team, will be to ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within budget and follow the company safety and management standards. You will interact with other department and will escalate issues when required.

Your responsibilities

The primary focus of this role if to ensure project quality and delivery within the scope of services and budget
Fully participate in HSE Management Program and comply with all safety, health, and environmental regulations
Ensure compliance in respective areas of control with all QHSE Management System requirements, policies and procedures
Have a competency in reading, understanding and interpreting engineering support documentation in relation to painting coatings and linings.
Ensure that all painting and coatings applied are consistent with project requirement; complete preparation and final coatings according to requirements and safety rules / regulations; complete all documentation
Check routing for accuracy and review all procedures before approving contractors and beginning operations
Flexible to transfer between working cells as required to meet business requirements
Ensure QA/QC Documentation completion (where applicable)
Work to procedure (correct procedure AAP, FAT, EFAT, etc Rev, Deviation in place, NCR work scope ensuring that the correct coating applications and equipment are available as per procedure)
Engage with project production visibility schedule boards
5S (Start / End of shift - workshop & paintstore housekeeping)

Who we are looking for

To be suitable for this role you must have:-

• Completed an engineering degree with suitable work experience within a preparation and coating application environment or equivalent
• Certified to Nace Level 1 & 2 as a minimum

A Bachelor’s degree or 10 years’ coatings industry-related experience along with Project Management in an industrial paint contracting or consulting business is preferred.
