Your future role:

We are looking to hire Lifting & Rigging Superintendent, who will be responsible for but not limited:

Lifting & Rigging Superintendent is responsible for managing safe and efficient lifting or transfer operations in accordance with Company Policy, Quality Safety & Environmental Management System, and International Standards.

To preserve the function of our physical assets throughout their life period to the satisfaction of international standards through continued process improvement, selecting and applying the most cost-effective techniques along with proactively preventing and managing failures and their consequences”

Primary Accountabilities & Key Performance Indicators:

Primary Accountabilities:

• Management of staff, including allocation of daily duties, competency training.
• Support the Production & Project Managers with planning maximizing utilization & performance of department resources.
• Support the Human Resources Department with effective recruitment, selection & training of personnel within IMI.
• Continuous review of operating procedures and processes within the department.
• Work closely with HSE to engineer out potential hazards, to provide a safe working environment, for all employees.
• Assist with R&D to ensure technological advancements are properly evaluated for improved ROI where ever practical.
• Ensure that Rigging Hardware & associated equipment are maintained & inspected in accordance with Company Policy and Quality Safety Management System.
• Ensure that Lifting & Rigging Equipment registers are kept up to date in all departments.
• Review and confirm that all safety & operational requirements are completed & checked prior to conducting any lifting or transfer operation.
• Work closely with Maintenance Department planning equipment service and re-certification as required.

Key Performance Indicators:

• Achievement of IMI’s Total Recordable Incidents (TRI).
• 95% or more utilization of equipment 
• Keep within or under predetermined budgets

• M & E Shop Superintendent / Supervisors
Who we are looking for:

• Qualifications related to lifting operations,
• Minimum of 10/More  years’ experience in a similar role within shipbuilding or equivalent industry.
• Strong leadership skills. 
• Thorough understanding of Engineering, planning & executing of lifting services in accordance with international lifting standards & practice (Example: LOLER). Knowledge of ERP systems & Asset Management Systems.
• The ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams, across a broad range of technologies and implement training programs.
• Experience in working with different nationalities and cultures. 
• Computer proficient with strong leadership skills.
• Resilient under stress and capable of managing competing priorities.
• Well-developed presentation skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Computer proficient
• Demonstrates ability to listen to the views of others and respond in a logical, well thought out manner without the need to resort to authority.
• Be Physically active and able to complete a full medical assessment.
