International Maritime Industries (IMI) will be the largest maritime yard in the MENA region with global ambitions and reach, offering advanced, sustainable services and driving the development of Saudi Arabia’s maritime industry. IMI’s full-service yard provides new build and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for commercial vessels including VLCC’s, Bulk Carriers, Offshore Support Vessels and Offshore Jack-Up rigs.
State-of-the-art technologies including artificial intelligence, biometrics and the Internet of Things are embedded into the yard’s infrastructure, offering customers a cutting-edge advantage in an era of digitalization. IMI also provides customers and business partners with innovative lifecycle management offerings, high-quality products, efficient schedules and internationally competitive prices.
At around 12 million square meters, IMI will be the largest Maritime facility in the MENA region (Meddle East & North Africa), equivalent to the size of around 1,680 football pitches. The first of our four zones, Zone A, will be used for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of vessels and will feature one of the world’s biggest lifts, capable of lifting up to 25,000 tons.
This project will create more than 80,000 direct & Indirect job opportunities by 2030 with an economic Impact of $17 billion and import substitution of $12 billion – assisting Saudi Arabia’s economic development and continuing progress towards Vision2030
International Maritime Industries is the only shipyard in the world with guaranteed offtake agreements worth $10 billion over 10 years with our Saudi partners Aramco and Al Bahri for the delivery of 20 rigs and 52 vessels. IMI is a huge success story.
